Telepathy

Taki’s mindreading (specifically, because different psychics see things differently): Taki gets emotions in colors, but the way the colors work depends on how intense the emotion is. The stronger the emotion, the more de/saturated the color is. After a certain point, he can start to make more connections between what the color means and what's causing it, and then even more what it's directly referencing. It doesn't explicitly show up as 'words in his head' but it's strong enough that thoughts and context are more apparent. Untrained, it would take a lot of effort and concentration for him to think at someone 'Please don't do that,' and it would be a sort of mix of hopeful anticipation underlined with pain, and sort of directed toward the object, rather than 'don't do this thing' spelled out. Since he's been practicing, he's more able to get an idea of the underlying specifics of the colors he's getting. Connections formed with people through a mental bond make things that much easier.

On color saturation: If pictured as a circular plane with a person in the center, white is their core, the absolute overstimulation of emotion. The colors begin to take shape as complex emotion, then peter out along the edges into much more simplistic, basic emotions until they just become black, the epitome of feeling nothing. Most emotions flit around the person like a ring, but stronger emotions ripple either outward or inward depending on the intensity and cause.

Taki’s basic emotion colors: (complex emotions, like worthlessness or shame are subsets of just these six)

Fear: Red
Anger: Orange
Disgust: Yellow
Sadness: Green
Happiness: Blue
Surprise: Purple
Love: Gold
White: Overstim
Black: Nothingness
